History of Dyson

James Dyson began creating his first vacuum cleaner in 1978, after he became frustrated by the air bag clogged up with dust in the one that he was using. Five years and a staggering 5,127 prototypes later, he created a vacuum using centrifugal force, based on the industrial cyclone tower he had worked on in the factory he worked at.

It's not all about making money at Dyson though, the company also runs the James Dyson Foundation, a charity which aims to help encourage young people into STEM subjects like science, technology and engineering. Delivery Information

There's one piece of really great news about Dyson delivery - if it's a vacuum cleaner, fan, fan heater, light or hand dryer that you're after then standard next day delivery is free on these items. If they're ordered before 5.30pm Monday to Friday they'll be delivered the next day via Parcelforce to most addresses in the UK - remote areas and orders placed at weekends could take a little longer.

Accessories and spare parts can be delivered for just over £3 in the UK, and should arrive within 3-5 working days in the post.

Returns Policy

If you need to return a vacuum, fan, heater or lighting then you can cancel your order up to two weeks after your order has been delivered to you - just notify Dyson using the phone number or email address provided. They'll arrange for your machine to be picked up free of charge, making the process of returning an item a very easy and painless one.

If you find that there's a fault with your machine, you can contact the team at Dyson for more information on how to proceed - be aware that there's a separate customer service line for the Dyson Airblade hand dryers if, for any reason, you need to return one of these as the result of a fault.
