The History of Argos
Argos formed in 1973, and has grown to become a 700 store retail empire in the UK and Ireland. Considering those figures, it's probably no surprise to say that Argos is the UK's leading digital retailer, and it lists more than 33,000 products online on www.argos.co.uk
According to reports, more and more of its customers are ordering products through their growing mobile channels, stores, over the telephone and via Argos TV. Argos also shared the news that in 2012 96% of the UK's population lived within 10 miles of an Argos store.
Renowned for its extensive catalogues, published twice a year, Argo produces spring/summer and autumn/winter editions which have also been complemented by a home edition. The hefty main Argos catalogues boast over 1,500 full colour, jam packed pages full of products.
With a whopping 130 million customers a year, Argos also continues to keep its crown as the UK's largest high street retailer. The Argos website boasts over 430 million website visits annually, and who knows how much the website takes? The Argos success certainly runs in the family, as also part of the Home Retail Group is its sister company Homebase, who are known for offering a large range of kitchens, bathrooms and home furniture as well as DIY advice and how-to guides across a broad range of home enhancement and DIY categories.
According to official figures, in the financial year to February 2012 Argos sales were £3.9 billion and the UK retailer employed over 31,000 people.

Delivery Information
With so many stores close to home owners in the UK, it's really easy for Argos customers to either find products in store to pick them up and take home or for customers to go online to reserve products to then pick up in store.
Argos also offers three ways for customers to arrange delivery. When browsing on their website, find the products you like, add them to your trolley and then choose the option to buy for home delivery. If you'd prefer to speak to their customer services team to arrange delivery to your home, call 0345 640 2020 between 8am and 8pm every day of the week.
Pop into any of their stores and Argos assistants will take your order to ensure you receive delivery according to your needs.
Argos offers a range of different delivery services for customers, which are dependant on the type of products being ordered. For full information on these options and their pricing, go to their website or call the Argos customer services team.
Returns Policy
Argos products have a 30-day money back guarantee. For customers who have changed their mind, products can be returned in their original condition with a receipt to any Argos store within 30 days, for an exchange or a full refund. Damaged or faulty items should be returned back to a store as soon as possible. There is a slightly different procedure for products ordered through their home delivery option. Customers should call 0345 640 0800 to arrange a free of charge exchange or collection. Some Argos products are non refundable. For full information on which products are nonrefundable, customers are advised to call the customer services team.
Security & Reviews
The Argos.co.uk website is extremely secure and uses many methods to keep payments and customer details safe.
When you arrive on the Argos site, a padlock is visible in the bottom right of the website, which means customers are in secure mode. Customers should always check they are in secure mode when entering personal or payment details.
All customer details are encrypted for increased security, and Argos uses advanced encryption throughout its website so customers card details cannot be seen, along with a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) for all orders placed.
Argos also participates in the Verified by Visa and MasterCard Secure-Code for added online payment security. This security ensures customer cards are not being used by anyone else and this is a standard protection system used across all shopping websites
